Buckin’ Hide and Chicken Fried Longest Table
Warren and Mel had a forking fabulous time at their Buckin’ Hide Chicken Fried Longest Table on Saturday June 23rd! Having hosted a Longest Table for four years now, the duo are very passionate about raising as much as they can to help save lives from cancer.
“We signed up to host a Longest Table four years ago because as business owners under constant demand to support charities, we decided to support a charity once a year that affects and helps everyone in the community,” Warren and Mel said.
“Throw in the opportunity to bring our friends together and have some fun and it was an easy decision!”
Having a different theme for their Longest Table each year, Warren and Mel always centre their event on the menu and the country of origin of the food.
“We have a very enthusiastic group of friends who pay a minimum entry fee and dress up to the theme, whilst we decorate our home, create a very big dining room, cook authentic food and play authentic music.
“We also run games, prize lotteries and give away prizes with goods and vouchers kindly donated by local businesses. This year we had a mechanical bull, a tractor on our front lawn along with hay bales, horse shoes, bunting, American lolly bags and every guest had a personalised ‘wanted’ sign as their placemat.”
Having 40 people over to their house on the night, Warren and Mel’s Longest Table was a whole lot of fun, food and friendship with one key goal of feeding hope for people suffering from cancer.
“A future without cancer would mean we can stop hearing of the heartbreak and trauma that our friends, families and even ourselves go through when our nearest and dearest are diagnosed with this horrible disease.”
