ECH Uniting to Fight Cancer
The team at ECH were passionate about raising funds to fight cancer this year, hosting a Longest Table lunch at both their Hawthorn and Victor Harbor sites!
We caught up with ECH Victor Harbor’s Social Program Coordinator Laura Ball to find out how their two events went and why they chose to #forkcancer.
“Cancer affects so many Australians directly and indirectly so it’s a cause close to many people’s hearts including the staff and members at ECH,” Laura said.
“At ECH, we support those going through cancer or those in survivorship by providing social programs. We also offer extensive allied health and exercise services to help people live confidently and independently as they age, therefore ECH was proud and excited to jump onboard and host two Longest Table events!
“We held our two Longest Table events at ECH Victor Harbor and Hawthorn on the same day of Wednesday July 26th and both were a sit down two-course lunch.”
Raising over $200 through their efforts, Laura and the team are proud these funds will contribute to cancer research aimed at improving outcomes for the old and young diagnosed with the devastating disease.
“We hope the funds we raised from our events go towards developing better treatments and ultimately find a cure for cancer,” Laura said.
“A future free from cancer would mean that people of all ages could reach their full potential without being affected by cancer.
“By raising money for cancer research, this is just another way in which we can help all Australians #forkcancer!”
A big thanks to the Laura and the wonderful team at ECH for helping save lives from cancer.
