Uniting to #forkcancer
A motivated Sotiria is joining the fight to #forkcancer to help others those who’ve been affected by this horrible disease.
“I’m lucky enough I don’t have any family members that have been affected by cancer but I have many friends and their families who have been,” Sotiria explained.
“Just recently a friend of mine tragically lost both parents to cancer which really made me determined to host a table this year,” Sotiria said.
Growing up in country town Whyalla, Sotiria understands the struggle of having limited access to medical resources.
“Seeing the minimal support in rural communities I know the effect it can have on people and I want to raise money to help,” Sotiria explained.
Being inspired from her six month travelling adventure around Europe, Sotiria’s table is called The World Is Your Oyster, featuring meals from different countries around the world.
“The aim for my night is to come together and have an enjoyable time supporting such a great cause,” Sotiria said.
“Without support you can’t get anywhere, it extends beyond individuals and everyone should unite to help those affected by cancer.
“A cancer free world would increase the quality of life and also the wellbeing of people that have suffered and their families in our communities. Ultimately that’s what people strive for – to live well and be happy.”
