The official date for The Longest Table is Saturday 25 July, 2026 but you can choose to host your Longest Table anytime until 31 August 2026. Once you set your date, start planning your event—order in pizza, host a picnic, book a restaurant table, or plan the ultimate dinner party! 

Anywhere! Your Longest Table could be at home, in the backyard, at work, in a park, at your favourite restaurant, or even via zoom. 

As big or as small as you like! From a cosy dinner with a friends to a big community feast – every seat at the Table helps make a difference.

Nope! Cook your favourite dishes, host a potluck, order takeaway, or book a table at a restaurant. There’s no wrong way to host.

As the host, you cover the cost of your Longest Table or alternatively, you share the cost with your friends – it’s up to you! You can share the responsibility of finding prizes, decorating and even hosting. Always more fun in numbers!

We’ve got you covered. You’ll receive your Host Kit, helpful emails, and support from The Longest Table team along the way. PLUS you’ll have your own host manager who will be in touch prior to, and after your event.

There are many ways you can raise funds, such as asking a cover charge to your Longest Table, holding a raffle or silent auction, playing games or simply asking your friends and family to donate!

Every dollar raised by your Longest Table will help fund life-changing cancer research and vital patient care services through The Hospital Research Foundation Group (THRFG) .

Thanks to our unique funding model, our administration costs are 100% covered by our commercial business activities.

As a Longest Table host, you can feel proud that all of your donation goes directly to fighting cancer.

Raise as much as you can. There is no minimum amount you need to raise for your Longest Table. Every bit counts in the fight against cancer!

Yes—you will even find a cash donation box inside your Host Kit.

If some people donate to you in cash, the quickest way to bank these funds and help cancer research as quickly as possible is to keep the cash and make a lump sum transaction to yourself via your online fundraising page.

Yes! Donations of $2.00 or more are tax deductible and donors receive an automatic tax receipt via email on completion of an online donation. Alternatively, complete the Tax Receipt form included in your Host Kit and we will issue receipts for any cash donations received.
