Frequently Asked Questions
Check out the commonly asked questions about hosting a Longest Table.
When should I host my Longest Table?
The official date for The Longest Table is Saturday July 22, 2023. If you’re busy that day, no worries, you can host your Longest Table whenever suits you between now and 31st August.
Where do I host my Longest Table?
You can host your Longest Table at home, your workplace, a restaurant, even online – the choice is yours!
Who pays for my Longest Table?
As the host, you cover the cost of your Longest Table or alternatively, you share the cost with your friends – it’s up to you!
What support do I get from The Longest Table team?
Our team is here to help you every step of the way! You will have access to a dedicated host manager and be sent regular emails with reminders and tips as you begin planning and then hold your Longest Table. You can get in touch with us at anytime via email at ContactUs@TheLongestTable.com.au, on social media or by calling our office on (08) 8244 1100.
What happens if I can no longer hold my Longest Table?
Instead of cancelling altogether, you might like to continue supporting cancer research without holding an event. Ask your friends and family to help you fundraise by making a donation to your fundraising page.
How do I fundraise?
We promise that fundraising isn’t as scary or tricky as you might think. There are many ways you can raise funds, such as selling tickets to your Longest Table, holding a raffle or silent auction, playing games or simply asking your friends and family to donate!
Where do the funds I raise actually go?
Every dollar raised by you as a Longest Table host will go towards lifesaving cancer research through The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group.
If you are hosting your Longest Table outside of South Australia and have nominated an additional charity partner, THRF Group will grant a portion of your fundraising total at the end of the campaign to your nominated charity partner, who will direct the funds to lifesaving cancer research and patient care projects.
How much do I have to raise at my Longest Table?
Can I collect offline donations?
Yes - you will even find a cash donation box inside your Goodie Bag. There a few options to bank your offline donations:
Option 1: Make individual donations for your guests
Keep the cash and make individual donations on your own host page so your donors receive their receipt. Please note the same credit card cannot be used multiple times.
Option 2: Make a lump sum donation
Make a lump sum donation to your own host page which means no individual receipts will be given, unless you complete the Tax Receipt form provided in your Goodie Bag.
Option 3: Make a bank transfer or direct deposit
To ensure we can track the funds you have banked and allocate them to your fundraising total, complete the Offline Donation form provided in your Goodie Bag – bank details are on the form. If you would like an electronic copy of the form please email us on ContactUs@TheLongestTable.com.au.
