I'm helping to #ForkCancer by hosting a Longest Table!

My Mum, Pam,was diagnosed with cancer in 2024. She is kicking cancers ass. At the same time a special man in my daughter's life was also diagnosed with the same cancer, Jarrad. This July, I'm hosting a Longest Table to raise money for life-changing cancer research. Sadly, almost 452 Australians are diagnosed with cancer every day - that's 74 friends, parents, workmates and kids during the time it takes to host a meal.

Please donate to my Table - every dollar raised helps change these statistics by funding life-changing cancer research through The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

Let's #ForkCancer together!

My Updates

Chemo and Radiation

Tuesday 24th Jun
Have you ever had a loved one experience chemo and radiation. You feel so helpless watching them drag themselves out of bed to subject themselves to more treatment. The treatment makes them constipated and then incontinent. They are told to walk but how can they leave the house when all of a sudden they need to go to the toilet?

My Mum did small walks around the block and yoga in her room.

She also lost her hair. It took her awhile to shave it off until my Dad threatened her that if she did not he would not take her out! She really needed to because all the different lengths looked worse than being shaved.  But what person, especially a woman, wants to shave off her hair. Much easier for most men.

Please support this event to help #forkcancer in the future

Thank you

A big thanks to those that have shared their cancer stories with me. It is great you are messaging but we really need donations. I know things are tight but even $2 or $5 helps. And it is tax deductible as it is a charity. Come on it is nearly tax time. Just do it!!

Fork Cancer

Friday 20th Jun
Just before Christmas in 2024, my Mum, Pam was diagnosed with bowel cancer. That same week my daughter's boyfriend's Dad was also diagnosed with the same cancer.

In 2024, my cousin lost her life long partner to cancer, he was only in his late 50s. He was a loving partner, Dad and all around great man.

We have all been touch in some way by this dreadful disease but until it hits your family you really don't know what it is like.

My Mum is a trooper, she had chemo and radiation and with the support of my Dad at every appointment, cooking every meal, she is on the road to recover.

I love my Mum so much and could not think of losing her. This event and money is to support future cancer sufferers to make life a little easier and to help fund the research cancer needs.

Come and join the Redcliffe Community to Fork Cancer.
