#ForkCancer with Longest Table!

Host a night of feasting, fun and fundraising with your netball club! Together, with your club by our side, we can raise essential funds for lifesaving cancer research and patient care through The Hospital Research Foundation Group.

What is The Longest Table?

The Longest Table is The Hospital Research Foundation Group’s annual cancer fundraiser, where you can host a night of fun and feasting to fight for a future free from cancer for your loved ones.

Every year, cancer takes the lives of 50,000 Australians. With your help, our passionate researchers will keep fighting hard, finding new ways to prevent, treat and hopefully cure this heartbreaking disease.

The official date for The Longest Table is July 22, 2023, but if this doesn’t suit then that’s OK! You can hold an event with your club anytime until the end of August.

#ForkCancer your way!

In 2022, the Karoonda Netball Club hosted a Longest Table with their local community!

The club hosted a Longest Table to help those in their community – past and present – impacted by cancer, and fight for a future free from this heartbreaking disease.

“As a small community, when friends and family are hurting, we come together to support. We encouraged our members, players and supporters to dig deep and do something constructive to help make a difference in this space,” says organiser and Netball SA board member, Caroline Phillips.

“We dream of a cancer free world for our mini magpies and their families.”

The Karoonda magpies hosted their event during their football and netball games, with donation boxes at the front gate of the oval and clubrooms, a VIP table with grazing platters and drinks and a raffle with donated prizes.

You’re helping people like Cate

Cate West is a loving mum, wife, sister, daughter, aunty and friend – and is facing a heartbreaking fight against brain cancer.

It was late 2021, following three months of severe headaches and nausea, occasional numbness to her limbs and countless visits to her GP, Cate was eventually told the worst.

Cate was diagnosed with a 6cm brain tumour, resulting in Stage 3 Astrocytoma.

“I could never have imagined in a million years that this is how my life would go,” said Cate.

Cate is a dedicated netballer who is hoping your club can raise essential funds to help people like her fight cancer.

“Netball has always been something to really hold our family together,” said Cate.

Will your club rally together to help people like Cate? Join Cate and The Longest Table in our mission to fight cancer and support world-class research and patient care.
