But for Kate, it was more than just clearing out her wardrobe – it was fuelled by fighting for a future free of cancer after losing multiple intimate family members. Dubbing her event ‘Fierce, Fabulous & Fizzy Fundraisers,' the night was all about good vibes, great company, and giving back in style.
“The girls just had fun. There was lots of laughing and getting into it, taking loads of photos with the fork and frame”
The night was a whirl of chatter, clicking glasses, and a friendly competition. In the lead-up, Kate rallied her friends to bring along handmade goodies, pre-loved fashion, and stylish pieces from their own wardrobes — all to be auctioned off or sold in support of a cause close to her heart.
Candles in luxe glass vessels, gift bundles packed with sweet treats, and wrapped bottles of wine were all up for live auction – no paddles needed, just quick wit and a little bidding banter.

Meanwhile, the clothing racks and shoes were a boutique lovers dream. Pre-loved fashion finds and barely worn heels were snapped up with glee. In the true nature of Kate, the energy was high, the atmosphere was relaxed, and every item found a new home.
But more than anything it was the laughter, the connection and the shared sense of purpose that made it one to remember! Kate set herself the modest goal of $500, and ended up raising an over $2,000! Every dollar truly counts in the fight to #ForkCancer.Tips and tricks: Kate’s secret guide to stress-free hosting experience!
Bring in the dream team
Kate was lucky enough to utilise her friend's expertise, one having experience in the auctioning field, whilst another using her banking skills to take care of all the behind-the-scenes work of an auction. Without these helping hands it’s difficult to make a live auction come to life. Delegation = liberation.
Keep food fuss-free
To meet the vision, it meant having no menus, just an easy spread of grazing board - hot and cold, sweet and savory! everything bite sized so guest could nibble between chats and charity bids. Drinks were parked on ice and up for grabs- no bar line, just help yourself sips that kept the good times flowing.
Kate’s Playlist plan
Make sure to set the vibe with a fabulous playlist for Kate, this meant Goldfrapp’s Ooh La La to Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, and a healthy dose of Prince and George Michael thrown in for good measure – every song was chosen with her guests in mind.
It was the kind of playlist that made people shimmy mid-bid and sing along between sips. Kate states the music had to be “something fun and upbeat as the longest tables a bit of fun!”
